Finally set upwith internet at 'home', where i am living for at least the next 4 months. Which means I have a chance to put a few more things on here!
OK, so going back in time about 5 months, I managed 1 post from Pennsylvania where I was catching up with friends on the way to my brothers wedding on the island of St Pierre, of the St Pierre et Michelon archipelego, a territory belonging to France, off the coast of Newfoundland. Were were in st Pierre for 6 days, and then I spent another 3 weeks travelling with my parents and Uncle John, around Nova Scota, Prince Edward Island, parts of England, and also the Orkney Islands off the north of Scotland.
Marielle's family were so welcoming, we stayed with her unlce and aunt, and uncle John and John stayed with her parents and brother. it was a lovely time to get to know them, and there was such a warm, loving welcome from them, it was very sad to leave at the end of the week. the wedding was in french, with some readings and prayers translated into English, then we broke the 'no speeches' tradition at the reception, with best man and groom giving speeches, and a personalised rendition of 'stand by me' performed by a group of John's friends who had come from Australia, England, Sweden, and Norway for the wedding.
Below, in no logical order at all, are some pics of the big day, and our time on St Pierre.
